You Can Now Install Windows 11 on Steam Deck and Steam Machine Consoles

With the introduction of the Steam Deck and Steam Machine gaming consoles, users can now also install the SteamOS operating system on computers powered by certain components. Recently, Valve has also introduced a new addition, which is for users to install the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system on these consoles.

Valve has just announced support for the Microsoft operating system via their support page, and says that if desired, they have shown the steps to take to do so. Valve also showed drivers for APU, graphics, SD card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and audio components.

However, Valve also said that although the operating system is now supported on the Steam Deck and Steam Machine consoles, they will not optimize this support. So if users encounter any problems using these consoles with the Windows 11 operating system, there will be no help available to fix it.

Valve also provides a dedicated website for reinstalling the SteamOS operating system if you no longer want to use Windows 11. This is because SteamOS does not support the dual-boot function which allows you to install two operating systems at once on the Steam Deck and Steam Machine consoles.
