On August 11, 2026, Microsoft introduced an automatically downloaded security update called the Windows 11 KB5121003 update. This update is done automatically because it does not introduce any new features, and only shows background updates.
However, this background update seems to conflict with the RGB lighting system if your computer has any accessories or components in the computer that use the RGB lighting system that can be modified through software.
What will happen is that some games will encounter a crashing issue or crash to the desktop when played with this update because it conflicts with the inputx64 file used by both the operating system and the RGB lighting software. This issue seems to no longer occur when the RGB software is deleted from the computer.
Embark Games, the development company behind the game Arc Raiders has shown some steps that players can take to fix this issue and allow users to play their computer games without problems. It seems that many Arc Raiders players are facing the same problem, and because of this, Embark Games has shown the easiest way to fix this issue.
Microsoft has updated their update page with a statement about the issue, and has somewhat blamed the software that comes with the file name, and has not yet shown a solution to the issue.
