The iPhone Ultra is just days away from launching as Apple's first foldable phone, becoming the first new product under CEO John Ternus. With the launch fast approaching, Bloomberg recently reported on a timeline of several iPhone models that will be launched until 2028.
This week, the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and Ultra will be launched with the A20 chip and improved battery life compared to last year's model. The iPhone Ultra will be Apple's first passport-sized foldable device and will return to the Touch ID that was last used by the iPhone SE six years ago.
In 2027, the iPhone 18 and 18e will be launched early in the year as more affordable models than the iPhone 18 Pro series. The iPhone Air 2 is also believed to be launched with dual cameras, a more powerful chip and improved battery life.
Two new iPhone Pro models will then be launched in H2 2027 in conjunction with the iPhone's 20th anniversary. It will feature an all-screen design, thin bezels and will begin a new design shift for the first time since the iPhone X. Meanwhile, a second iPhone Ultra model will also be launched, believed to only involve a more powerful processor.
Next in 2028, a foldable iPhone with larger outer and inner screens will be launched. All of these plans are in line with previous rumors that stated the regular model would be launched in H1 each year followed by the Pro and premium models in H2.
