At WWDC in June, Apple announced the feature that allows two iPhones to share one SIM via iOS 27. With the launch of the iPhone 18 approaching, we finally know that it will use the name iPhone Handoff.
Let's start with the good news that the process of using a SIM on a secondary iPhone can be done quickly by pressing a few buttons on the main phone. The bad news is that it can only be done via eSIM and requires support from the telecommunications company.
It is rumored that T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom will support iPhone Handoff after launch. It is also still unknown whether this feature will be supported by older iPhone models or is exclusive to the iPhone 18 series for now.
