Project DualPlay Mini Is a Concept Mobile Gaming Console With a Built-in Keyboard

During the Acer GPC announcement event, Acer showed off not one, but two mobile gaming consoles. The first was the Acer Predator Atlas 7, and the second was a concept device called the Project DualPlay Mini.

This device is a concept that reimagines what a mobile gaming console can do and comes with a more unique design than usual. The DualPlay Mini comes with an 8.0-inch screen display with a slightly larger but more curved design compared to the Predator Atlas 8.

In terms of plug offerings, the console is seen to come with two USB Type-C plugs for charging as well as connection to a display via DisplayPort, a 3.5mm audio plug and a power button, similar to the configuration shown on the Predator Atlas console.

The uniqueness of the DualPlay Mini can be seen in a feature where the upper part of the console can be raised, revealing the keyboard section below the display. When this part is raised enough, the display section can be rotated 360 degrees to turn this console into a compact “laptop”.

Details of the Project DualPlay Mini specifications were not disclosed, but it appears to use an Intel processor, which we expect to be the Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip. The memory and storage configuration were not revealed.

The Project DualPlay Mini is seen as a concept device for those who not only want a powerful portable game console, but also a compact productivity machine that can be taken anywhere.

The back of the console frame also comes with the words “Acer 50 since 1976” in Morse code as a way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this technology company.

For now, Acer has not given any final word on whether they will introduce this device as a product that will be commercialized.
