As rumored for the past month, the Sony WH-1000XM4C was launched yesterday with a few improvements. From a design perspective, it is the same earphones as the WH-1000XM4 with a foldable design, vegan leather body and various features that made the original XM4 one of the best earphones on the market.
It uses 40mm audio drivers with Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack. The ANC system is supported by a QN1 chip and four microphones. ANC can be paused by closing the right ear cup.
Various physical control buttons are placed on the left ear cup as well as finger gesture controls. One change made is that there are 10 EQ settings compared to only 5 on the original XM4.
One negative change is that the XM4's battery life is only 27 hours with ANC and 34 hours without ANC. This is four hours shorter than the original model. The Sony WH-1000XM4C is marketed as the entry-level WH1000 series headphones for those who don't want to spend a lot.
It is now available for pre-order in Malaysia at RM1099 in Black, Lavender and Platinum Silver with delivery starting November 2026. Its retail price is cheaper than the XM5 (RM1399), XM6 (RM2099) and 1000X THE COLLECTION (RM2499).
