Vivo V80 Lite 5G – How Long Does the 10,000mAh Battery Last?

In today's smartphone landscape, battery capacity is more than just a figure on paper. A 10,000mAh battery raises the question of whether it is truly practical or merely a gimmick. In the past, such capacities were found only in bulky, heavy power banks. Now, technology allows that capacity to be packed into a slim, modern device. This innovation is reshaping our perception of battery endurance, making it better suited to contemporary lifestyles.

After testing the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G—which features the same capacity—attention now turns to the Vivo V80 Lite 5G. During a two-day, one-night trip to Glamping Dusun Bonda, the phone was used in real-world scenarios that closely mirrored daily usage patterns.

Throughout the activities, the phone was used continuously to capture atmospheric photos, stream entertainment on Netflix, use the flashlight for night-time activities, browse the internet, and stay in touch with colleagues to keep up with work tasks.

Notably, map applications were not used, as the journey was made via a provided bus. While the usage pattern during the trip was more relaxed, it still offered a comprehensive look at how long a 10,000mAh battery holds up when various functions are used continuously.

Battery Endurance Timeline

The field test began with the device at 100% battery capacity upon leaving home at 11:04 AM. By the time of arrival at Mid Valley at 11:28 AM, the battery level remained full, showing no drop. During the Grab ride, the phone was used casually for listening to Spotify, scrolling through social media, and reading WhatsApp messages.

By 12:53 PM, the battery capacity began to show a decline after the phone was used to record video and communicate via WhatsApp. During the journey to the destination, usage continued with the streaming of the series *Kudrat 1968*, alongside Spotify and social media browsing to pass the time. Upon arrival at 2:34 PM, the battery level stood at 82%. Throughout the on-site activities, the phone was consistently used to take photos and record videos, with continuous data usage over the 4G+ LTE network. This sustained usage caused the battery level to drop to 68% by 7:10 PM.

Subsequently, evening activities began at 8:00 PM with the "Blackout Challenge," which lasted nearly two hours in total darkness. The phone served as the primary light source during this activity, and by 11:00 PM, the remaining battery had dropped to 47%. Before bed, an episode of the anime *Demon Slayer* was watched. The next morning, 26% of the battery remained. Activities continued as usual throughout the morning until the level fell to 6% before the return trip. Finally, upon arriving back at Mid Valley around 2:00 PM, only 3% of the battery remained.

Throughout the usage period, the phone maintained an active internet connection and full SIM utilization; it even acted as a hotspot due to limited coverage and was used for several video calls. These observations demonstrate that the Vivo V80 Lite 5G’s 10,000mAh battery can last nearly 24 hours under continuous, multi-functional usage. Such endurance offers clear added value for users requiring a device with all-day battery life, particularly during travel or outdoor activities.

Battery Usage Graph Observations

The battery usage graph illustrates the consumption pattern throughout the journey. The battery level declined steadily from full to near-depletion without any intermediate charging. The stable curve of the graph indicates continuous phone usage throughout the period.

There were no signs of recharging; instead, the graph showed only a consistently descending blue line that turned red as the battery neared depletion. These observations indicate that the battery can last more than a full day, even with multi-functional usage. The phone was not only used actively but also continued to run processes in the background.

In terms of applications, social media emerged as the primary contributor to battery consumption. This pattern reflects the reality of modern lifestyles, where online activities and daily entertainment are major factors influencing battery longevity during the trip.

Note: The data for this graph was recorded specifically during the glamping trip at Dusun Bonda. It does not represent general daily usage patterns or usage on other days.

Conclusion

The Vivo V80 Lite 5G, equipped with a 10,000mAh battery, demonstrates practical performance in real-world usage. Throughout the journey, the device successfully handled various functions all day long, maintaining a consistent rate of battery drain without requiring a recharge. Casual usage patterns—such as capturing the scenery, browsing social media, consuming entertainment, staying in touch with colleagues, and occasionally using the device as a hotspot—provide a realistic picture of its battery endurance in a typical daily lifestyle.

Although online applications increase energy consumption, this large capacity offers a distinct advantage for travel or daily activities. Ultimately, however, battery longevity still depends on how each user operates the device.
