Volvo EX90 Ultra Twin Introduced – 800V Charging Architecture, RM 428K

A year after Volvo Malaysia announced their 7-seater luxury electric SUV, the Volvo EX90, today they have updated the model with the name EX90 Ultra Twin. At first glance it looks the same but what is clearly different between the EX90 Ultra Twin and the previous version of the EX90 Twin Performance is the absence of the LIDAR system found on the windshield roof.

According to Volvo, although there is no LIDAR system on the EX90 Ultra Twin, it still maintains safety features not only for passengers, but also for the lives of other passengers to ensure their vehicles are safe for everyone. This model also uses the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX processing chip based on Orin.

Among other innovative features brought by the updated EX90 is the power that can be generated from all-wheel drive which is as high as 500kW / 680hp which allows for 0-100km/h acceleration as fast as 4.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 180 km/h. Another innovative feature is the electrochromatic roof that does not require a light-insulating layer or other accessories. This electrochromatic roof was also first used for the Volvo ES90. For charging, the EX90 has been updated with an 800V charging architecture, allowing 10-80% charging in 22 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.

Despite the updated charging architecture, it uses a nearly identical 106 kWh battery, providing a range of 617KM WLTP. The 11kW AC charger provides a 0-100% charging time of 10 hours. The interior is equipped with Nappa leather trim with front seats that support massage and ventilation functions.

The Volvo EX90 Ultra Twin is offered at a price of RM 428,888 and comes with a 5-year warranty and an 8-year battery warranty, both of which are provided without any mileage limits. A discount of around RM 28,000 is offered for the first 100 buyers who will receive a rebate of RM25,000 and also a home charging set worth RM 3,000. For those of you who are interested in an electric SUV that offers 7 seats, the Volvo EX90 Ultra Twin can meet your needs.
