PMX Encourages Public to Use 'Tuju' App as an Alternative to Waze – Waze Is Subject to Israeli Law

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has indicated—following a national cybersecurity meeting—that various security risks are being examined, specifically those concerning information and data related to the movements of local citizens. This concern arises largely because many people use the Waze application, which is subject to Israeli law.

In light of this, the Prime Minister is encouraging the public to switch to 'Tuju'—a local application developed by the Malaysian Highway Authority—as an alternative to Waze.

Tuju has been available since 2025; its interface was recently updated with a more modern design, and it now incorporates several features that rival those found in Waze. Those interested can download Tuju today via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
