Singapore Launches Dating App for 21-to-35-Year-Olds

The Singaporean government has launched a dating app aimed at individuals aged 21 to 35, encouraging them to find partners through the platform. In its initial phase, the app—named "FirstDate"—is being offered to the country's civil servants.

This move is seen as a measure to address the nation's issue of declining birth rates. As of 2025, the birth rate stood at approximately 0.87, a figure that is extremely low and raises significant concerns regarding the country's future.

In addition to introducing this app, the Singaporean government has also offered various incentives for children in the country to help alleviate the financial burden on families and encourage higher birth rates.
