TCab Tech is a developer of eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) flying vehicle technology based in China, yet it was founded by a Malaysian, Ng Yon Wui, who also serves as the company's CEO and Chairman.
In conjunction with the announcement and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC), the company is currently showcasing its latest flying vehicle, the TCab Tech E20 eVTOL, at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.
The E20 eVTOL is a fully electric flying vehicle capable of accommodating five individuals—comprising one pilot and four passengers—along with luggage, with a maximum payload capacity of 450kg. On a single full charge, the vehicle can fly at a speed of 320 km/h, covering a range of 200 km at an altitude of 300–600 meters.
The advantage of an eVTOL flying vehicle lies in its ability to take off and land vertically, eliminating the need for a runway. While the E20 eVTOL “flying taxi” is not yet operational in Malaysia, TCab Tech has highlighted some of its capabilities, such as transporting passengers from Tawau to locations like Sipadan Island, Semporna, and Pom-Pom Island within 30 minutes. Another example cited is the transport of passengers to and from locations such as Genting Highlands, Subang Airport, Dataran Merdeka, and others in a very short amount of time. To provide some background on Ng Yon Wui: prior to founding TCab Tech, he accumulated 20 years of experience developing aviation technology in China, Australia, and Europe, working with companies and organizations such as Airbus, Geely Terrafugia, and the European Aviation Safety Authority.
TCab Tech will be showcasing the E20 eVTOL flying vehicle at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya from today, October 9, through November 9, 2026. The display is located near the East Wing entrance—specifically at Symphony East 3—within the mall.
