TikTok Shop Malaysia has notified local sellers of updated commission fee rates, which will take effect on October 31, 2026. Based on our observations, commission rates have been reduced for 5 product categories and kept unchanged for another 5, while rates for other categories have been increased.
The 5 categories receiving a reduction in commission fees on TikTok Shop include feminine care, oral and nasal care, medical supplies, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and treatments, as well as breastfeeding and infant feeding products. The commission rate for the "instant food" category remains unchanged, while fresh and frozen food, milk and dairy products, pantry staples and cooking essentials, and baking supplies continue to have a 0% commission rate.
However, for many other sellers—covering dozens of additional categories—commission fees have been increased. If you conduct business on the TikTok Shop platform, you should review the official announcement from TikTok to determine the new commission fees applicable to your specific products and offerings.
This increase in commission fees comes at a time when many merchants on the platform have expressed concerns regarding rising costs, and as the government prepares to introduce specific legislation for the e-commerce sector in the near future.
