The Telegram team ensures that active official account verification in the form of channels, public groups, or bots can be done easily so that more and more users can interact with official accounts without hesitation. Here's how to get a Telegram account check mark as quoted from Telegram's written statement.
Verify the account with at least two other services
Telegram verified the official account by confirming that it has verified its account on at least two other platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, VK and Snapchat.
Official accounts will need to add their Telegram channel profile link on this platform, so that the Telegram team can verify that they are owned by the same owner. Once this is done, the account owner will need to contact Telegram @VerifyBot for verification.
For those who do not have a verified account on the other two platforms, Telegram can verify the official account through Wikipedia. If a user has a page that is not removed on Wikipedia, which meets the Wikipedia Fame Guidelines, and that page includes a link to a channel, bot, or public group on Telegram, the site can be counted as one of two required verified accounts.
For organizations, a link to the Telegram channel from the organization’s official website may also be considered. The bot will offer the option to enter additional data and comments after checking social media links.
A verification badge will be assigned to the verified page
After following the page verification steps, a successfully verified channel, group or bot will receive a verification badge in the form of a check mark next to the account name to visually distinguish it from other unofficial accounts.
Unable to edit page name after verification
Verified channels, groups or bots cannot change their names or short links (t.me / ...). If changes are needed, the account owner can remove the verification status first by contacting @VerifyBot and sending / canceling the account verification and re -verifying using the bot as before.
With this authentication, Telegram wants to ensure secure interaction between the user and the official account, and as a way to show that the user is interacting with a legitimate channel, group or bot that the user can trust.
