Blue Origin Creates a Record: Bring the Oldest and Youngest Humans into Space

Blue Origin will break records by bringing the youngest and oldest humans flying to enjoy space travel.
Both records were made by Oliver Daemen, 18, son of Somerset Capital Partners CEO Joes Daemen. The other is Wally Funk, an 82 -year -old pilot and aviation pioneer.

They will be accompanied by Jeff Bezos, who is actually the richest man in the world and founder of Blue Origin, and his brother, Mark Bezos.

This record would be even more beautiful if the flight using New Shepard was successfully done on July 20th. Since this is the first manned mission Blue Origin has done by taking humans into space.

The fourth human flight using New Shepard from Texas, USA, is scheduled to take place at 09.00 EDT (13.00 GMT)

“I never thought I would be able to fly,” Funk said.

This grandmother had to wait 60 years to get to outer space. Previously, at the age of 21, Funk was one of the participants in the female astronaut training program, Woman in Space. Unfortunately, Funk’s dream had to run.

Funk will break the previous oldest human record held by John Glen who went into space with the STS-95 shuttle at the age of 77.

Meanwhile, Oliver is a bit taken aback. Accompanying Bezos is an anonymous passenger who won a $ 28 million auction to fly with Blue Origin. However, in the latest development, he did not fly until he was replaced by Oliver.

Oliver’s father, Joes Daemen, also signed up for space travel, but he handed it over to his son. It doesn’t say how much he should pay, but it’s certainly not cheap.

"I'm so excited to go into space. I've been dreaming about this all my life and I'm going to be the youngest astronaut since I'm 18. I'm so excited to experience zero gravity," Oliver said.
