Not SpaceX, Elon Musk Chooses To Go To Space aboard Virgin Galactic

Elon Musk has reportedly booked a flight into space offered by Virgin Galactic, Richard Branson's company. In fact, Musk is the founder of SpaceX, which also produces rockets and flies astronauts into space.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Branson said Musk had paid a $10,000 deposit for a ticket on an upcoming Virgin Galactic flight.

Branson himself will fly into space today, Sunday (11/7) from New Mexico, USA at 09.00 local time. In the future, Branson does not rule out flying into space with a SpaceX rocket.

"Elon is my friend and maybe I will travel on his plane one day," said Branson, as quoted from innews, Sunday (11/7/2021).

Despite being the founder of SpaceX, Musk has never been to space. Although his company has experience taking astronauts to the space station, and has plans to take tourists into space.

While Branson immediately intervened following the first manned flight test carried out by Virgin Galactic. He will fly on the VSS Unity aircraft and will be accompanied by three crew and two pilots.

Another billionaire who also participated in this space tourism competition is Jeff Bezos. The world's richest man will join Blue Origin's first manned flight with three other passengers on July 20.

A day before Branson's departure, Musk and Bezos also congratulated the 70-year-old. From his tweets on Twitter, Musk indicated that he will see the launch process himself.

"Will see you there to wish you the best," Musk said in a tweet for Branson.

"Thanks for your support and being a great friend, Elon," Branson replied.

Branson's dream of flying into space is about to come true. If all goes well, he will be the owner of the first space company to successfully reach outer space.

Meanwhile, Musk will join 600 other people who have already paid a deposit to secure a Virgin Galactic flight ticket. The ticket, which costs USD 250 thousand, promises tourists an extraterrestrial view and the sensation of flying for four minutes.
