Clubhouse Launches Messaging Feature, Competing with WhatsApp?

 

After being leaked some time ago, Clubhouse has finally released an order feature. Named Backchannel, want to compete with WhatsApp?

Like other instant messaging services, including WhatsApp, the Backchannel Clubhouse feature allows users to send messages between two individuals or in a group format. But given an inbox or inboxes that contain requests to send messages from other accounts.

When you look at the purpose of this feature, it seems that Backchannel is not competing with WhatsApp or similar services. But it makes it easier for users to coordinate and enhance speaker and listener interaction during a chat session. Here is the use of the Backchannel feature in the Clubhouse:

1. Discuss in the room in real time

If you’re a speaker, you can use Backchannel to chat with other speakers, prepare questions of what to ask next, or choose which audience to receive in the room.

If you are a listener, you can chat with fellow listeners while listening to the ongoing discussion in the room. Just tap the 'plane' icon or swipe left, to access the Back Channel.

2. Send and receive questions from the audience

If you are a speaker, you can now answer questions from the audience via text. In addition, it can filter incoming questions via text to select which audience will be invited to the room to speak or ask questions directly.

If you are a listener, you can now ask questions via text if you do not have the opportunity to speak in the space.

3. Give direct thanks to fellow Clubhouse users

You can use Backchannel to text directly to your fellow Clubhouse users, either as a speaker or a listener. Thank them for their participation in the room or send an invitation to join the room.

4. Plan the event

Many things need to be prepared for an event or room in the Clubhouse. Now you can coordinate more easily via text with various parties to make the event or room a success.

5. Chat with friends at the Clubhouse

When you meet new people at the Clubhouse, you better be able to build a deeper relationship with them. Now you can directly contact them through Backchannel.
