WhatsApp features of various new devices are finally released and its users can try it out. How to?
The WhatsApp function of these various devices makes users not need to connect their mobile phones to the internet to be able to use the WhatsApp web on a PC or laptop. Previously, the WhatsApp web could only work if the user’s phone was always connected to the internet.
Well, now WhatsApp eliminates that requirement and is developing a new data stream for the messaging platform. Will Cathcart, WhatsApp boss, explained this data flow via a tweet on Twitter.
According to Cathcart, even though the phone doesn’t need to be activated and connected to the internet, WhatsApp’s web data flow is still protected by the end -to -end encryption system that WhatsApp has always boasted about.
"Now you can use a desktop or web experience even when the phone is turned off and connected to the internet. Everything is protected with end -to -end encryption," Cathcart wrote.
He also explained that they have been using this feature for a long time. Previously, desktop and web features worked with mirroring from your phone, which meant your phone had to be turned on and connected to the internet.
This situation makes WhatsApp messages on the desktop or web often blocked or late entry, which is usually due to the internet connection on the mobile phone being interrupted or the mobile phone entering power saving mode.
The explanation is explained through pictures comparing data flows in new and old systems. It can be seen that previously mobile phones were a major factor in having the ability to encrypt and decrypt messages sent and received.
This encrypted sync also applies to message history, contact names, and other data.
Unfortunately, new users can enjoy this feature if they are already registered as beta testers. The WhatsApp team, also called Cathcart, will continue to improve the performance of this feature and continue to add new features.
