Actor Ashton Kutcher should be part of the list of celebrities who will undergo space travel. Unfortunately, the intention was misguided because his wife was not given permission.
Kutcher said he had purchased tickets for a space tour flight using Virgin Galactic. Of course, getting these tickets is not easy, as there are only 500 tickets available.
The ticket was bought by Kutcher in 2012. At that time, the ticket price was still sold at USD 200 thousand, equivalent to Rp 2.8 billion.
"I ordered a flight ticket to go into space. Actually, I'm pretty sad about the fact that I didn't go into space," Kutcher said on AT&T's 5G event quoted from Mashable on Monday (19/7/2021).
“My wife asked me to sell tickets to space, because she thought‘ that’s not a good family decision, ’” Kutcher explained.
The plan is that Virgin Galactic could open up space tourism in 2013 and 2014. With the various obstacles faced, fully manned flights will only be feasible in July 2021.
This was marked by the success of Richard Branson who is the founder of Virgin Galactic, successfully conducting a manned test mission with three people and two pilots in the Unity 22 crew.
Moreover, Elon Musk, who is a leader in space technology, will also be using Virgin Galactic into space, not with his company SpaceX.
Despite not getting a blessing from his wife, Kutcher still hopes that one day he will enjoy the incredible scenery, watching the Earth from a zero gravity perspective.
“I no longer book a flight into space, (but) one day I will go into space,” he said.
