Mark Zuckerberg's Weird Style Celebrates US Independence Day

Independence Day of the United States which falls on the 4th of July is usually celebrated with a barbecue or fireworks. But Mark Zuckerberg apparently has his own rather strange way of celebrating US Independence Day this year.
In a video he posted on social media, the Facebook CEO is surfing a lake using an electric hydrofoil surfboard with the sunset in the background.

He also carried an American flag fluttering in the wind. The video is also accompanied by the song 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' by John Denver.

"Happy 4th of July!" Zuckerberg wrote in the caption of his video on Instagram, as quoted from Cnet, Monday (5/7/2021).

Within hours, the 71-second video went viral on Facebook and Instagram. Even on Instagram this video has been viewed more than 1.8 million times and got more than 300 thousand likes.

Netizens also responded to Zuckerberg's strange video with mockery. Some thought he was trolling, some thought Zuckerberg's actions in the video were ridiculous.

"I've seen it, so now you should too. Sorry," said one netizen who shared Zuckerberg's video on Twitter.

"This is the worst thing ever," said another.

Other netizens also blamed artificial intelligence and thought Zuckerberg in the video was a deepfake that looked very similar to a human.

Other users say the waters Zuckerberg is navigating may just want to burn. They were referring to a gas pipeline leak in the Gulf of Mexico that caused a fire at sea last weekend.

"Oceans: please burn me back," wrote one netizen.

"Do millionaires become really weird because they have money, or do they become millionaires because they're really weird? Because, what the hell is this?" other netizens wrote.

The last time Zuckerberg surfed in public he was also the subject of a meme because his face was too white from using too much sunscreen. He reasons to use thick sunscreen to fool the paparazzi.

This is the latest video showing Zuckerberg's strange hobby. Some time ago this 37-year-old man shared a video showing his skills in archery and javelin throwing.
