9 Data Security Threats on Mobile and How to Overcome Them (Part 2)

Is my cellphone safe? Maybe that's a question that's been on your mind for a long time. At least, make sure these four security threats can't mess up.

With the rapid advancement of technology, HP has become an important thing. Everything connected on your cellphone, your current location, banking information, personal data in organizational applications, can all be in one hand.

Previously, we have discussed 5 data security threats on HP. As quoted from Auth0, Monday (30/8/2021), he continued the four data security threats that lurk in 2021 and how to prevent them.

6. Spyware

Still the age of spyware? Still. Spyware is usually used to survey or steal data through 'something' which is downloaded when a user touches a 'malvertisement' or malicious advertisement on the internet. Parents are usually easily consumed by this issue because of the gap in their digital literacy.

How to fix it:

The way to prevent spyware is to only use applications that have been proven safe at legal service providers Google Play or the App Store. Make sure you have upgraded your operating system (OS) so that your cellphone can be protected from the latest spyware threats.

2. The password!

A 2020 study from Balbix found 99% of people surveyed reused the same password as a work account on their personal account (or vice versa). And unfortunately, the password tends to be insecure bin weak.

A Google study in 2019 found 59% of people surveyed used their name or date of birth in passwords and 24% admitted to using passwords like the one below:

1. 123456

2. password

3. 12345678

4. qwerty

5. 12345

6. 123456789

7. football

8. 1234

9. 1234567

10. baseball

How to fix it:

How to prevent this attack of course by using a password that is not easy to guess like that. Use layered authentication to prevent breaches.

3. Theft of HP, what should I do?

HP theft what to do? Since most devices can be accessed remotely, delete or transfer information on the HP. iPhone and Android can do both.

How to fix it:

MDM can also help with security, encryption and erasing sensitive data from a lost or stolen device -- if it was installed before the device was stolen.

4. The OS has not been updated

Ladies and gentlemen, every device updates to prevent security holes in the device. Google and Apple know that so there are lots of updates done regularly.

How to fix it:

Make sure to use the device on the latest operating system. If it's been too long that it can't be updated? It's time to replace a new HP.
