Cryptocurrency mining like Bitcoin has become big business and requires employees. One of them is a 19 -year -old teenager named Nick Sears, where he works full time at a Bitcoin mine.
Even Sears decided not to further his studies when at the age of 17 he was accepted at a Bitcoin mining company called SCATE Ventures located in Washington. He also lived in a room located in the mine.
So what's the job? Sears is responsible for keeping Bitcoin mining machines running smoothly and repairing any damage. His company operates 4,500 Bitmain and Whatsminer machines.
The flow of thousands of machines was quite noisy, but the rest were uninterrupted because the room was soundproofed when the doors were closed. He felt comfortable living there and was also able to save on transportation costs.
Sears for two years working there has studied intensively as a Bitcoin mining machine technician. “I didn’t think at all of going to college, I demanded more knowledge about repairing mining machines,” he said.
Sears normally works from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. After that, he remained at the scene in case of an emergency. "I don't schedule work every day. Every morning, I fix what needs to be fixed, cameras, maybe cables," he said.
“Every day, too, you’ll find a machine that stops working, then you take it off the shelf and fix it,” he added. For this job, Sears is paid USD 54 thousand a year, or in the range of USD 772 million, a reasonable amount to live in the United States.
In addition, Sears and other employees each year also get Bitcoin bonuses, as there are special mining machines for employees. The bonus amounts to about 0.02 Bitcoin. Great too!
