BTS to the Bond of Love, the most popular hashtag on Twitter in the first half of 2021

 


Twitter celebrates Hashtag Day which falls on August 23. The social media icon with the blue bird released the 10 most popular hashtags for the first half of this year, from BTS to Bonds of Love on the list.


K-Pop and gaming are popular topics that dominate the conversation on Twitter in Asia from January to June 2021. The majority of countries in Asia Pacific have at least one hashtag related to K-Pop in their list of the top 10 most popular hashtags in their country in the first half of 2021, such as #BTS in Australia and Indonesia, to #bambam in Thailand.


Another popular topic is gaming with #GenshinImpact and #NintendoSwitch as popular hashtags among gamers.



According to Twitter, people often use hashtags to find information quickly. Discussions about bitcoin investment trends to the latest entertainment topics are some of the popular hashtags that also liven up the timeline.


Since then, hashtags have evolved into a global way of communicating to group Tweets, making it easier for people to find topics and become part of the conversation, changing the way people communicate and becoming one of the most influential symbols of the digital age.
