This is the reason why the PUBG game changed its name

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds aka PUBG, has officially changed its name to PUBG: Battlegrounds. The big question is, why did the developer replace it?
Perhaps the steps taken by Krafton and PUBG Corporation are too many. This is because the name PUBG has become an acronym that includes the word Battlegrounds in it.

Even so, Krafton did it for no reason. The goal is to help differentiate early versions of PUBG from newer titles, including PUBG: New State, which will start moving this year.

"Krafton is actively developing the PUBG brand, through a variety of new experiences that exist in the universe," Krafton said.

They added that the rebranding of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds into PUBG: Battlegrounds was our first step in realizing this vision. Of course, it has to do with the latest version of the Battle Royale game in the future.

The New State version itself, is a mobile game from PUBG Studio, set in 2051. When you watch the video trailer on the internet, the game presents a futuristic concept embedded in a weapon or vehicle.

But we are sure, the game is still similar to its predecessor. Regular players will fight using Battle Royale mode with 100 other players and remain the only fighter left.

The South Korean gaming company is also making other efforts to expand the world of PUBG. They will also present an animated film, in which the project is being worked on by Adi Shankar, Showrunner and Executive Producer for the film Castlevania on Netflix.

Even so, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a much better name. If compared to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds or if you want to shorten it to PUBGBG.

So what do you think, is this the right move by Krafton and PUBG Corporation to bring a new name in their Battle Royale game?
