Hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein was a black spot for Bill Gates. Epstein is a ruthless and very dangerous sex offender. It is therefore natural for people to wonder why Gates saw it so many times.
Epstein has been accused of operating a sex trafficking network and abusing dozens of minors.
“A group of obscene photos of a very young -looking woman and girl were seized from a Manhattan home in Epstein,” prosecutors said in a lawsuit filed in court in 2019, when Epstein was already arrested.
Epstein was investigated by police in 2005 when parents reported he abused their 14 -year -old daughter. He was found guilty, but only jailed for 13 months. Allegedly he harassed 36 young women.
He was arrested again on July 6, 2019 in connection with a ring for trafficking children in Florida and New York. On August 10, 2019, he was found dead by suicide in his cell after momentarily denying the charges leveled against him.
Epstein, who is in the financial business, is known to be close to elite and influential figures. Ranging from Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Prince Andrew to Bill Clinton. It is therefore not surprising that Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crime case has garnered much attention from American society.
Gates is known to have met Epstein several times. This reportedly made Melinda Gates sick of being unhappy with Epstein’s figure. Until finally Gates admits that he deeply regrets being so close to Epstein.
Moreover, it seems that Epstein had been an influential figure to associate with Gates and several other important figures before being arrested by the authorities.
“It’s a very big mistake to spend time with him, to give him credibility,” Gates said.
Gates said he met Epstein only in hopes of getting more donations to tackle global health problems and for no other purpose.
"I've had dinner with him a few times, hoping what he said about raising billions for charities for global health through his relationship could happen. When it doesn't seem to be happening, then the relationship is over," Bill Gates said.
On whether his close relationship with Epstein was the reason Melinda divorced him, Bill Gates declined to comment. For now, according to him, the most important thing is to recover and contemplate divorce.
"This is a time for reflection and at this point, I have to move forward. In a family, we will heal," Bill Gates said.
