What is Chrome OS

Chrome OS is an operating system developed and owned by Google. However, introduced in July 2009, Chromebooks were only released two years later.

The name Chome OS itself does come from the Google browser you use often. Because this operating system is basically a web browser.

Google designed it for users who spend a lot of time on the internet. So Chrome becomes the user interface, and the only app included is a web browser that combines a media player and a file browser.

But in its development Google presents the Play Store. This means that most of the apps you can download and run on your Android phone can be used on Chrome OS.

However, keep in mind that not all of these applications are optimized for this operating system. So instead of a full screen, the app looks like a cell phone screen size.

Regardless, some newer Chromebooks have the ability to run Linux applications, so they can run desktop -class applications.

Advantages of Chrome OS

Chrome OS is designed for speed and security. The firmware is lightweight and eliminates some of the hardware features that may be found in a traditional PC BIOS. One effect the boot will be much faster than a Windows laptop, Google claims in just eight seconds

The OS uses sandboxes, security techniques that isolate programs, prevent malicious programs or attackers from spying on, controlling and damaging entire computers. The system checks the integrity of the operating system at boot time and repairs itself if it detects any modifications to system files.

The Chrome OS firmware will also detect if the OS is missing or damaged during startup, and prompt the user to run a recovery process.
