Despite this pandemic, many activities are carried out at home, but the need for cellphones (HP) with long-lasting batteries is still needed. Therefore, Samsung presents the Galaxy M32 which offers a large capacity battery, 5,000 mAh.
With this capacity, this South Korean vendor dares to claim that his cellphone lasts all day. But unfortunately the battery capacity provided by Samsung actually decreased compared to its predecessor.
The Galaxy M31, which was released last year, has a capacity of 6,000 mAh. Does that make the Galaxy M32 worth a glance? Here's a brief review.
Design
The back of the Galaxy M32 uses glasstic material. The variant that visited us was blue with a vertical stripe motif, so attractive to the eye.
It's just that because the surface is made like glass, fingerprint smudges stick easily. So you have to be diligent in cleaning so that it looks good.
With a width of 75.9 mm and a weight of 180 grams, this Galaxy M32 is so cool in the hand. Even when operated with one hand it feels comfortable.
The ports provided by Samsung are complete, namely USB Type C and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is integrated with the power button which is placed on the right side of the phone along with the volume control button.
Screen
If Samsung attaches an AMOLED panel to its line of phones, even if it's in the mid-range class, there's no doubt about the quality of the colors presented. With a 6.4-inch stretch and Full HD + resolution, it provides the satisfaction of enjoying video content using this Galaxy M32.
This cellphone supports a 90Hz refresh rate, so we will provide a smooth sensation when scrolling websites or when playing games. You will feel the difference if you previously used a phone with a 60Hz screen.
With a brightness level of up to 800 nits, the Galaxy M32 screen remains clear even when used in the sun. Samsung provides Gorilla Glass 5 protection to avoid scratches.
Camera
The Galaxy M32 has a quad-camera setup on the back. Featuring a 64 MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
The rear camera results on the Galaxy M32 are good during the day. In good lighting conditions, the main 64MP sensor takes detailed shots with decent dynamic range.
Similarly, when taking photos with an ultra-wide lens, macro and bokeh, all will produce great shots in the daytime. Unfortunately in low light, the camera is a bit less than optimal. The photos are less focused and capture a lot of noise.
Speaking of the front camera, this phone has a 20MP sensor that can be used for video calls as long as you can't meet in person because of the implementation of PPKM. The results of the shots themselves are quite satisfactory.
Performance
The Galaxy M32 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chip. The chipset, which is made with 12 nm fabrication, is claimed to be good at playing mobile games.
HP's performance is good for everyday use, but not as good as competitors. Maybe because it still uses eMMC storage, as it is known that the read and write speeds are slower when compared to HP supported by UFS 2.1 storage.
The performance of the Galaxy M32 feels less kicking when playing games. Because users have to set to low and medium graphics settings to keep the game running smoothly.
We prove this when playing COD Mobile with low and medium graphics settings, the game runs smoothly and lags.
We had time to do a benchmark to measure the performance of the Galaxy A32 and the results are as described above.
Battery
Samsung did reduce the battery capacity in the Galaxy M32 to 5,000 mAh, while the previous generation was 6,000 mAh. But with a difference of 1,000 mAh, it doesn't show a significant difference.
As claimed by Samsung, the Galaxy M32 battery is able to support user activities throughout the day. In our experience it took more than 10 hours of charge on this phone with normal use.
And this is in line with PCMark benchmark results. When tested the battery scored 13 hours 37 minutes.
Our opinion
Looking for a cellphone that has an eye-catching screen, long-lasting battery performance and an attractive display, you can glance at the Galaxy M32. More interestingly, this cellphone has provided an NFC feature that will make it easier to top up electronic money.
Its performance is not so special, but it is enough to meet daily use, such as browsing, video calling and accessing social media. The camera is also okay for capturing moments during the day.
There are drawbacks, but that's not really a problem. For example, this phone still adopts a water drop notch while others have switched to punch holes.
Then there are no stereo speakers, instead, Dolby Atmos support is provided when using a wired or wireless earphone.
And hopefully Samsung improves its fast charging technology. Galaxy M32 already uses USB Type C but only supports 15W fast charging. so it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge this phone.
