82% of Android users are reluctant to move to iPhone 13, this is the reason

Apple will introduce the iPhone 13 in the fall of this year. But a series of new features that will be brought to the iPhone 13 was not able to tempt Android users to switch to the iPhone.

Based on the results of a survey on the selling and buying site for used goods, SellCell, 81.7% of Android users said they were not interested in buying an iPhone 13. This survey targeted 5,000 Android users aged 18 years and over in the United States, as quoted from MacRumors, Wednesday (1/9/2021).

This means that only 18.3% of Android users are considering switching to the iPhone 13. Interestingly, SellCell conducted the same survey last year and found that 33% of Android users are planning to buy a new iPhone. This means that the number of Android users who want to switch to the iPhone fell 15% in just a year.

Of the four iPhone 13 models offered, 39.8% of Android users are most interested in the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Meanwhile 36.1% are interested in the iPhone 13 Pro, 19.5% are interested in the iPhone 13 and only 4.6% are interested in the iPhone 13 mini.

When asked what factors made them interested in moving to the iPhone, 51.4% of respondents answered that it was because of the longer software support. Apple's more integrated ecosystem is the reason 23.8% of respondents, while 11.4% are interested in better privacy protection.

So what makes Android users reluctant to switch to iPhone 13? The biggest factor is the absence of a fingerprint sensor which is the reason for 31.9% of respondents.

The fingerprint sensor has indeed become one of the main features in many Android phones over the last few years. The iPhone does offer a Face ID system that is claimed to be more secure, but this feature becomes difficult to use if the user is wearing a mask.

Meanwhile, 16.7% of respondents said they did not intend to buy an iPhone because of the limited iOS customization features, 12.8% said they could not sideload applications, 12.1% did not like the design and hardware, and 10.4% did not agree. Apple's policy is to scan photos in iCloud for child sexual abuse content.

iPhone 13 itself is predicted to be launched in a matter of days. Since Apple will return to the launch schedule in September, the latest predictions are that the iPhone 13 will be showcased on September 14th.

The iPhone 13 won't bring many major design updates. This latest flagship phone from Apple will come with enhanced camera features, ProRes video, 120Hz screen, smaller notch, new 5G chip from Qualcomm, and much more.
