Cambodian Students Develop Drone To Carry Humans

Drones are unmanned aircraft that are controlled by humans remotely using a controller. There are many stories where drones are often used for photography needs to food delivery.

And most recently, drones want to be used as private vehicles that can bring people to be a solution to congestion. Those who innovate are a group of students in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

These students have built a homemade manned drone that actually works. The creation of this manned drone was inspired by their desire to overcome traffic jams.

This drone can fly humans up to 60kg in weight and can fly as high as four meters in 10 minutes.

While 10 minutes may not be that far, but this idea is a student effort who doesn't have the resources of a big tech company and it's certainly impressive.

It took them three years to create this manned drone and in the process they have spent a lot of money amounting to USD 20,000.

However, they are far from finished and students estimate that they will need an additional two years before being fully prepared and tested. It is also estimated that in the end, the project could cost USD 40,000 .

In addition to dealing with congestion, the students also wanted the drone to be used to extinguish fires, such as helping to transport water or carrying hoses to higher floors faster and more efficiently.
