God of War Ragnarok Becomes the End of Norse Mythology, Why?

Carlo Barlog, Director of Santa Monica Studio, revealed that God of War Ragnarok, will be the end of the story of Norse Mythology. Many fans are disappointed, but what is the reason?

In an interview on Kaptain Koba's Youtube channel, Barlog explained why he had to end the Nordic (Norse) storyline. This is because the development process itself takes a long time.

"There are several reasons, I think one of the most important reasons is time. The first game took five years. The second game, I don't know exactly how much time it will take. But it's more or less the same," said Barlog.

He added that if you really wanted to create a third game, with a similar time frame, it could take up to 15 years. Barlog felt, it was too much and the main story became unfocused and felt too long.

"Most of what we tried to do from the start was tell something about Kratos and Atreus. That the core of the story engine is really the relationship between the two characters," explains Barlog.

Responses from gamers were varied. Because they think the storyline is presented, it ends too soon. However, it is very important to pay attention to the core of the story, rather than to impose a series of plots to the detriment of his creative vision.

As previously noted, the trailer for this latest series has been released at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase event. It shows some gameplay, from the adventures of Kratos and his son, Atreus.

Presents a variety of combatants, from their fight to defeat the enemy. The important point, Kratos wanted to save his son, from his past experience when he clashed with the gods.

Eric Williams, Director of God of War Ragnarok, explained that the game's combat system has evolved. players are presented with more diverse battles and demands a lot of tactics in the game.

"So in Ragnarok, what we're trying to do is give players more expression to the main character Kratos," said Williams.
