Allegedly frequent criticism of Apple, this employee was fired

Apple's #AppleToo leader Janneke Parrish has reportedly been fired. Apple claims the dismissal because he deleted files that were needed during the investigation. But many suspect he was fired for vocally criticizing Apple.

Parrish, who is Apple Maps' program manager, has been accused of deleting widely reported files, including the Robinhood, Pokemon GO and Google Drive apps, hampering investigations.

Quoted from The Verge, Monday (10/18/2021) a number of Apple staff believed that the dismissal was actually Apple's response to Parrish's action by organizing a group of people to voice the company's internal conditions through the #AppleToo movement.

"We can confirm that he is no longer at Apple. However, we cannot speak further regarding the current situation," said Parrish's attorney, Vincent P. White.

Previously, Parrish publicly expressed his disappointment over the outcome of a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook. The meeting was held to discuss pay equity issues and harassment issues.

"According to the answer Tim gave, our voices were not heard," said Parrish.

Not only Parrish, this is the second reported dismissal and is suspected to be related to the same case. Previously, Senior Engineering Program Manager Ashley Gjovik was fired on charges of revealing confidential information.

Gjovik was given administrative leave after months of tweeting about the hostile work environment at Apple.

#AppleToo was originally created as a channel on the Discord platform, and was created to address issues of workplace harassment, discrimination, sexism, racism, and more. Within four days of its launch, #AppleToo received nearly 500 reports of problems in the work environment at Apple.
