Jack Ma is currently in Spain on holiday, much to the relief of his fans and Alibaba investors alike as he is doing well after a long absence. The Chinese government did not prohibit him from going abroad. The founder of Alibaba travels on his luxury ship.
Jack Ma's luxury yacht is called Zen. The ship was spotted off Mallorca waters and is likely to visit other areas.
On Wednesday, the ship reportedly docked near the coastal town of Santa Ponsa. However, Reuters cameramen saw only the smaller support boats returning to the superyacht from shore empty. Jack Ma was nowhere to be seen.
Then, El Pais newspaper reported, Ma had visited Spain's Balearic Islands since Saturday. He was accompanied by Chinese businessmen and security personnel.
Jack Ma's Zen ship, which looks futuristic, consists of five levels and is 88 meters high. It can accommodate up to 16 guests and 25 crew. This ship is newly built, built in the Netherlands and only completed last April.
This news made Alibaba's share price soar to 9%. Investors are certainly relieved to hear that Jack Ma is somewhat clear on his fate, not arrested or otherwise.
"There's no doubt in my mind that if Jack Ma doesn't disappear again it will at least make Alibaba's share price rise 10%, because that has long been one of the uncertainties for many investors," said Tariq Demison, analyst at GFM Asset Management.
