After Nintendo and Niantic revealed their collaboration in developing a mobile game titled Pikmin last March. Now they have announced, will soon launch it on Android and iOS.
This game has a closed beta, but is only available in Singapore. So not many details have been revealed, regarding the game mechanics offered by the developer.
However, Niantic and Nintendo have revealed Pikmin Bloom, ready to be released to the Google Play Store and App Store starting slowly in the next few days. Meanwhile, currently only available for Australia and Singapore.
Based on the video trailer that they have uploaded on the Pikmin Bloom Youtube channel, players will be asked to find Pikmin seeds and help them grow in large numbers. Similar to the game concept from Pokemon GO, where gamers have to walk out of the house to play it.
Pikmin is a game character that will be built with Augmented Reality (AR) technology, to bring Nintendo's favorite characters to life in a new way.
"I really believe in the benefits of walking for physical health. That's why we want to inspire people to go out, explore their environment and have fun at the same time," said John Hanke, CEO & Founder of Niantic.
Hanke said that with more runs, players can get more Pikmin. Where they are, will help grow flowers around you and make it a beautiful garden.
Pikmin himself is a unique creature, with a plant on his head. It was created by Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's Representative Director, who also made Super Mario.
"With everything in Pikmin Bloom, I hope everyone can make lasting memories, with Pikmin," said Miyamoto.
