This Is The Magnificence Of Jeff Bezos' USD 500 Million Cruise Ship

As one of the richest people in the world, it's only natural that Jeff Bezos collects expensive and exclusive items. Amazon founder is reportedly going to become the new owner of a luxury yacht worth $ 500 million .

The autoevolution site recently uploaded photos of the Project Y721 yacht that was allegedly ordered by Bezos. This cruise ship is being built in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands by the Oceanco company.

This yacht has a length of 127 meters and a three-story deck, and will be equipped with three giant masts to spread its sails. The Dutch Yachting YouTube channel also uploaded a video showing the aerial view of the Y721 yacht.

The cruise ship is currently on its way to Alblasterdam, another city in the Netherlands, for the final construction process. So far Oceanco has not confirmed whether this cruise ship was ordered by Bezos or not, though

rumors were already circulating.

Journalist Brad Stone, who wrote a book about Bezos called 'Amazon Unbound', also tweeted about the yacht. In his book, Stone writes that by owning a luxury yacht, Bezos turned from a tech geek to a billionaire explorer of the world.

Not much information is known about this cruise ship. Previously, the Evening Standard reported that the Bezos cruise ship was designed to follow the Black Pearl cruise ship, which is also made by Oceanco.

The Black Pearl is known as one of the largest and most environmentally friendly sailing cruise ships in the world. This yacht has a sail of 2,877 square meters that can be stretched in just seven minutes and the speed of the ship can reach 30 knots.

Because it has three giant masts to place its sails, Bezos' yacht will not have a helicopter pad. Because of this, Bezos is reportedly also ordering a smaller cruise ship that will be equipped with a helipad and other entertainment needs, as quoted from GeekWire, Sunday (10/24/2021).

The yacht Y721 is slated for completion soon and will be delivered to its new owner, most likely Jeff Bezos, in 2022 after undergoing sea trials. Later this cruise ship will hold several records, including the largest sailing yacht in the world and the largest ship built in the Netherlands.

Bezos isn't the only tech boss to collect luxury yachts. The late Paul Allen, who was the co-founder of Microsoft, also owned a 126-meter-long luxury yacht called the Octopus. This yacht was recently sold to an unnamed buyer, and the selling price is also kept secret.
