Sony Ready to Present Free Play at Home Games If COVID-19 Continues

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive, revealed the future of the PlayStation event, namely Play at Home. He said that most likely, the free game event could reappear.

However, it bodes badly for people around the world. Because it can happen, only if COVID-19 is still going on in the future.

In an interview, Ryan revealed, as long as Play at Home was held since last year, 60 million games were exchanged and downloaded. This is due to the increasing presence of video games during the pandemic and the movement to stay at home.

The initiative to give games for free has been carried out since April last year. Allows players to download and save high-quality PlayStation exclusive games, at no cost.

"As a thank you to all who are doing their part to mitigate the impact of this pandemic, Sony Interactive Entertainment is pleased to announce the Play At Home initiative," Ryan wrote.

They got off to a pretty good start, having offered Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journet for free. Then followed by other titles, such as Horizon: Zero Dawn and Ratchet & Clank.

Continued last May, Sony itself has prepared exciting games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Destruction AllStars, NBA 2K21, Rocket League, Brawhalla and many more. However, this profitable event has not yet been held.

As Ryan said, it all depends on the presence of COVID-19. If the pandemic is still ongoing, it may have to hold Play at Home again.

"We'll wait and see," Ryan said.

Meanwhile, players can enjoy free games, through Sony's embedded PS Plus feature. Because every month, they will give access voluntarily.

In October 2021, Mortal Kombat X, PGA Tour 2K21, Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood and Hell Let Loose will be available. You can play the four PlayStation games to your heart's content.
