Instagram Will Warn Teens to Take a Break, Don't Just IG

Social media is a place to get and share information around the world, both entertainment posts, tips and tricks, to events.

But behind it all, sometimes social media can also be a threat and have a bad impact, especially for the mental health of its users.

Many surveys reveal that many are obsessed with social media and start comparing themselves to what they see online which is not necessarily as beautiful as what is posted.

This obsession can have a negative impact, especially for users of young teenagers who are more easily influenced. This is especially the case for Instagram users.

Therefore, Facebook has decided to implement a reminder feature for teen Instagram users that will remind them to take a break from social media once in a while to help with mental health.

"We're going to introduce something that I think will make a huge difference, where our system sees that teens are viewing the same content over and over again, and content that may not be conducive to their well-being, we'll encourage them to look at other content," the VP said. Global Affairs Facebook, Nick Clegg.

Facebook didn't state specifically when the feature would roll out, but it might be something to look forward to in the future.

Companies like Apple and Google already have a similar feature where they can show users how much time they have spent on certain apps, and also allow users to set time limits on apps and be reminded when their time is up.
