WA and IG Down, Mark Zuckerberg Gets 'Doom' Lost USD 6 billion in assets

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have been down since Monday night (4/10/2021) at 23.00 WIB. But Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg ensured that the three product services had recovered at this time.

"Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are now back online," Zuckerberg said on his Facebook account.

This father of two children also apologized to all users who were affected by the collapse of WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook services.

"Sorry for the interruption today -- I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about." he said.

Even though all of the company's social networks are back online, that hasn't stopped Zuckerberg from losing more than $6 billion in a matter of hours because the service was down this time.

As reported by Bloomberg, Facebook shares were down nearly 5% on Monday, and down 15% compared to mid-September. As expected, these figures also affect the wealth of the husband of Priscilla Chan, now to USD 121.6 billion.

Zuckerberg has slipped to 5th place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, ranking the 500 richest people in the world. In 4th place now is Microsoft founder Bill Gates with a net worth of USD 124 billion.

Users started having problems with Facebook services (including WhatsApp and Instagram) around 23:00 WIB. It wasn't long before all of the company's social networks went completely offline worldwide.

Some users took to Twitter and other social networks to complain about the outage. WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook services were down for more than 6 hours.

Until now, Facebook has not revealed the cause of the downfall of their service. It is said to be the cause of a DNS issue that "delete" the path to the Facebook domain. Even the company's internal network was affected, which made the outage longer and more complicated.
