Creepy Crocodile Faced Dinosaur Found

Two new species of dinosaur have been discovered on the Isle of Wight, an island near Great Britain. One of them has a face like a crocodile with a snout as long as one meter and is a pretty terrible carnivore at the time these animals were still living on Earth hundreds of millions of years ago.

The species is about 9 meters long so it is a large predator and is thought to have lived around areas of England in the period 125 million years ago.

His fossilized bones were discovered gradually over a period of several years on the Isle of Wight. The two new species, according to the scientists who researched them, are related to spinosaurids, which are included in the category of predatory dinosaurs. About 50 of their bones were found.

The first specimen with a crocodile face was named Ceratosuchops inferodios, also nicknamed the horned crocodile-faced crane from hell, because its hunting style is thought to be similar to that of a stork. While the horns are short.

They are thought to be able to easily find prey in water and lakes thanks to their jumbo snout. One of the prey is probably fish as well as some animals on land. This dinosaur is called a flexible predator in hunting its prey.

The second specimen is called Riparovenator milnerae, in honor of the recently deceased British paleontologist Angela Milner.

"We've known for a long time that dinosaurs of this kind existed on the Isle of Wight, but finding the remains of two such animals so close together was a big surprise," said Darren Naish of the University of Southampton, one of the researchers.
