WhatsApp New Features, Chats Can Join Group Phones

The WhatsApp Messaging application expands the calling feature in its group by releasing Joinable Calls or phone calls that can be followed directly from within the group chat.

The joinable call feature was first introduced in July 2021, allowing users to join ongoing group calls.

With the expansion of this feature users can now call WhatsApp groups and join calls directly from the group chat window. WhatsApp also notes that call notifications will now show the group name instead of just the participant's name.

Ongoing calls are shown in the chat list, so users can see which groups have live calls as soon as they open the app.

"We made it easier to spontaneously connect with your group. Join an ongoing call with your group anytime, easily and directly from the chat view with one click," says WhatsApp .

"With the growing popularity of group calling, integrating calls that WhatsApp users can join in a spontaneous way, to connect with groups of family and friends." he continued.

In addition, WhatsApp says calls currently have different ringtones that make users feel like sending and receiving messages.

How to Use the Joinable Call Feature:

Video calls or video calls on WhatsApp can accommodate up to eight people. When receiving a group video call, the user will see a notification containing the participants who joined the meeting.

The first contact listed is the person who added to the video call.

Click join or join to join the video call. If the call is missed or becomes a "missed call", the user can see in the call or call history tab.

Facebook as the parent company of WhatsApp has continued to roll out several new features over the past few months. It is an attempt to retain and attract new users.

Recently, WhatsApp announced that they started rolling out a new feature that allows users to encrypt backups of their chat history on iCloud or Google Drive.

Although WhatsAPp offers encrypted chats between users on its platform, users do not have the facility to protect chat backups stored in the cloud.

The addition of encrypted chat backups addresses a major loophole that governments have exploited to obtain private communications between users. WhatsApp says it is providing this new feature to users in every market where the app operates.
