Indonesia Becomes a Candidate for the King of the Digital Economy in the World


 Indonesia is a candidate for the king of the digital economy in Asia and even in the world. At the same time, Indonesia is also an industrial market, especially the best smartphones. Geoffry Nugraha Acting President Director of QNB conveyed this at the Indosat Ooredoo Talk event.

"More than 200 million people in Indonesia, around 96% of whom have access to the internet via mobile phones, and for industry, Indonesia is a big market," said Geoffry.


"Indonesia is the 4th largest country in terms of internet users as well as the 4th largest smartphone business in the world. Of course, the digital economy faces several challenges," he continued.



Vikram Sinha, Director & CCO of Indosat Ooredoo said on the same occasion that Indosat and partners are willing to work together to build Indonesia's digital economy through infrastructure development.


"We support Indonesia's plan in the digital economy and we want cooperation and build collaboration with other parties such as banks," said Vikram.


Geoffry said that banking provides considerable potential for the digital economy. Moreover, now the use of the internet for transactions, payments, investments and even loans has increased. This is further strengthened due to the pandemic conditions. Furthermore, he revealed the challenges faced by Indonesia.


"Unified development is needed to adapt to development in any system. In addition, from a security perspective, with more transactions, information security is very important and requires a lot of resources and investment," he said.
