Instagram Tries Moderator Feature to Help Livestream

Instagram is developing several new features for its mobile app. One of them is the moderator feature that can help creators during livestreams.

Developer Alessandro Paluzzi reports with this feature creators can add moderators while live on Instagram. Creators can choose a moderator from the audience list to help manage comments that go live, as quoted from Gizmodo, Monday (15/11/2021).

In addition, the selected moderator can also turn off comments, requests to join Live, and questions. Previously these options could only be set by the user hosting the livestream.

In addition to the moderator feature, Instagram is also still developing the like feature for Stories. This feature was first discovered by Paluzzi last August, and now he is sharing additional details about the feature.

Paluzzi previously said users can like a Story multiple times and the likes will be displayed in the same place as the Story viewer list. In his latest tweet, Paluzzi shows how the Like button looks in the viewer list.

It is not yet known when Instagram will release these two features publicly. With these two new features, Instagram seems to be trying to encourage creators and influencers to feel more at home on its platform.

The moderator feature can be useful for creators and influencers with large followers who often go live. While the Like button in Stories will become a new metric for creators and influencers.
