Instagram users will be able to choose what they see on the timeline

For Instagram users who follow various accounts such as family, brands to celebrities, of course the timeline they see will vary greatly.

However, there are often some posts from them that seem to annoy us. Now there is good news, later users can set the timeline view that they want to see.

This is based on a report from a tweet by Alessandro Paluzzi, which revealed that Instagram is testing ways for users to change what they see on their timeline.

Based on the screenshots shared, it seems that this ability is done by the filter feature that will be embedded in Instagram.

This filter will allow users to see what they want to see on their timeline. Currently the options are Home , Following, and Favorites.

Home will be the regular algorithm-based timeline that everyone is familiar with. Then "Favorite" will be a place that will only see posts from certain accounts, but know what Following is. It might be a place where users will see posts of people they follow and who follow users back.

While Instagram's algorithm-based timeline is more intuitive and smarter in showing users what they find interesting. Recently, US lawmakers have proposed a bill that would allow users to disable this algorithm.
