Makes you drool, this is Bill Gates' amount of cash

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index data, Bill Gates' wealth is currently in the range of USD 138 billion, placing him in the fourth position of the richest man in the world. Of that amount, how much cash is the Microsoft founder likely to keep in the bank?

Still according to Bloomberg, the amount is USD 56.7 billion. The remainder may be in the form of shares or other assets that he owns.

His wealth is still abundant due to several factors. First, Bill still owns Microsoft's shares even though it's only 1%. Under the leadership of CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft is growing and the value of the company skyrocketed.

In addition to shares, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was taken into account. The foundation's assets are valued at USD 40 billion. On the other hand, Gates has a business entity called Cascade Investments to manage investments with his wealth.

Through Cascade, Bill Gates, among others, owns 47% of the Four Seasons hotel shares. There are also shares of Berkshire Hathaway, a company owned by his friend, Warren Buffet.

On the other hand, had Gates not sold his stake in Microsoft, he could have easily returned to the top of the list of the richest people in the world. According to Bloomberg analysis, in September 1998 Gates owned 2.06 billion shares of Microsoft when the software company became the world's most valuable company for the first time.

But in 2020, Gates sold most of his stake when he left his post on Microsoft's board of directors. Since then, this 66-year-old man has chosen to focus on his charitable activities.

Not long ago, on October 29, Microsoft once again became the most valuable company in the world and took over the position previously held by Apple. Microsoft 's current capitalization reaches USD 2.49 trillion .

If Bill Gates currently still owns the stock, its current value could reach USD 693 billion. This means that Gates' wealth could exceed the sum of Musk's and Bezos' wealth combined, as quoted from News.com.au.
