The Mystery of Salt Bae Suddenly Blocked Facebook

The name Salt Bae was mysteriously blocked by Facebook so that it could not be mentioned by users. What's wrong?

So anyone who searches for that phrase during a block will get a message that it violates community standards. Facebook later lifted the ban, but it's not clear why Salt Bae was banned.

"We unblocked this hashtag on Facebook and we are investigating why this happened," a Facebook spokesperson said, quoted by the Independent. He did not explain the reason for the blocking.

Salt Bae is the popular name of chef Nusret Gokce, who became an internet sensation in 2017 thanks to his unique style of sprinkling salt on steaks. Since then, he has launched luxury restaurants. Recently, his restaurant opened in London at a high price.

Well last week, one of the Vietnamese ministers named To Lam went viral for visiting the restaurant while attending the COP26 conference. Looks Salt Bae serving the minister, where the menu is a gold-plated steak.

The video was posted on Salt Bae's Twitter and later heavily criticized in Vietnam. Many people ask why the minister eats such an expensive menu in the midst of efforts to eradicate corruption in the country.

After an outcry, the video was removed from Salt Bae's TikTok account. Those who tried to post it again failed because TikTok deemed it a violation.

Therefore, many suspect that the Vietnamese government ordered TikTok to block the Salt Bae video in question, as was the case with Facebook. But so far, there has been no official explanation about it.
