This group of hackers found loopholes to hijack PS5

A group of hackers named failOverflow, claimed to have found a loophole to break into the security system of the PlayStation 5 or PS5 console. They can access the 'root key', which is used to decrypt the firmware of this console from Sony.

"We got all the ps5 root keys (symmetric). If you look closely, everything can be obtained through software, including per-console root keys," writes failOverflow, .

failOverflow was previously recognized as the first group of hackers, to be able to bypass PS3 security in 2010. Now they're back to taking one step back, in jailbreaking or removing limitations from the PS5.

In addition, the group is also famous for being able to hack PS4. Plus it runs Linux and other custom firmware, on Nintendo's console, the Nintendo Switch.

With the condition of the platform that has undergone a jailbreak, allowing it to run various kinds of pirated games. However, the findings obtained by failOverflow, have not confirmed that the PS5 will suffer the same fate as its brothers.

Meanwhile, the availability of PS5 in the world is still doubtful to meet the interest of gamers. Given the demand for this console itself exceeds the existing supply. Even in outside online stores, such as Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, PlayStation itself is out of stock.

However, there is little information, that Sony recently supplied PS5 stock to the UK. They flew it on three Boeing 747s from South Korea and were seen landing at Heathrow.

One plane has already arrived at the location and two others will follow in the near future. It's not clear how many shipped, however, The Gamer estimates it's 125,000 consoles.

This amount is not too much when compared to sales during operation since its release until now. However, the latest sales data shows that Britons only accounted for one million PS5 purchases at the end of September.
