Totally Failed, Nintendo Turns Off Game Dr. Mario World

In recent years, Nintendo has started to make big strides by launching a lot of games on mobile phones. Some game titles like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Firem Emblem Heroes have proven to be very popular over the years.

However, not all games made by Nintendo provide satisfactory performance like Dr. Mario World which has been decided to be officially closed as of October 31, 2021.

According to Sensor Tower, data collected about six months after its launch, Dr. Mario World is Nintendo's worst performing game in terms of revenue. Including his brother, Super Mario Run, whose sales were quite disappointing.

Launched in July 2019, Mario and friends, initially were forged to become money panners. But unfortunately, it seems that not enough players are tempted by this puzzle game.

Relying on a red, blue and yellow capsule to solve the puzzle, it was only able to captivate 5 million gamers on the Google Play Store for more than two years. It seems, the 4.2/5 rating from 121 thousand reviews, has not been able to save it.

Nintendo had previously warned gamers that it would be shutting down its games and services back in July.

"Dr. Mario World's game service will end on November 1, 2021 (Monday). We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who has played this game since it started operating on July 10, 2019." Nintendo said.

Players who wish to reminisce about this game can visit Dr. Mario World Memories where players can revisit their own game history after service ends.

"To enable the provision of the Dr. Mario World Memories service, a portion of the player's history will be stored on the server so that it can be referenced in Dr. Mario World Memories," Nintendo explained.
