A perfect dream, Japanese billionaire spends 12 days in space

The perfect dream. That's the story of Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa who has completed space tourism.

Going to space has been Maezawa's dream since time immemorial. He was predicted to use SpaceX, due to the close relationship with Elon Musk.

However, Maezawa actually enjoyed this space tour using a Soyuz rocket belonging to Roscosmos, the Russian Space Agency. Maezawa spent 12 days staying at the International Space Station (ISS).

As quoted from Space, Monday (12/20/2021) Yusaku Maezawa managed to safely descend back to Earth, precisely in Kazakhstan, Sunday (19/12) local time. The landing was with Yozo Hirano and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin.

Hirano himself is a professional videographer brought by the Japanese billionaire. The goal is to pour the experience of living in space into a documentary video.

The stories of Maezawa's journey before leaving for space tourism to living for 12 days there have been uploaded on his YouTube channel.

The average content is simple but it can answer all questions about life in space. For example, drinking in space, making music, how to brush your teeth, to playing with zero gravity.

"If you happen to be rich, and rich like me, I think you should contribute a lot more," he said.

Yusaku Maezawa is the CEO of Start TOday and Founder of Zozo, an online clothing retail business that he sells to Yahoo Japan. Maezawa is also fairly often distributed money to his followers.

To make space tourism a reality, Maezawa and Hirano signed a partnership with Virginia Space Adventures. The company will also fly eight flights for seven self-funded astronauts.
