According to the latest rumors in 2022 Apple will refresh the iPad Pro with new capabilities that can charge wirelessly (wireless)
It's unclear whether this will actually happen, but there's a new report in which Apple filed a patent for the iPad's wireless case.
According to a report from Patently Apple they found a patent application from Apple which it appears that Apple has filed the patent.
The diagrams circulating show this refers to a magnetic core shaped like a ring similar to Apple's MagSafe charging system for the iPhone.
This seems to lend credibility to previous rumors about an iPad with wireless charging support, where it could actually use the MagSafe connector system.
One possible use of such a system, as patented by Apple has been, is the future Magic Keyboard where it can not only be a keyboard but can also be used as a kind of external power bank that can charge the iPad's battery while the keyboard is in use.
Nonetheless, it's hard to say whether the patent is just an idea created by Apple that they want to protect, or if it's actually a product in the works. So for now don't expect too much.
