Good news! Android Games Can Be Played on PC Without Emulator

There is good news for fans of android games. The reason, Google plans to bring a series of games to laptops, tablets and Windows PCs next year.

"Starting in 2022, players will be able to experience their favorite Google Play games, on more devices. We are certainly excited to be able to expand our platform for players to enjoy their favorite Android games," said Greg Hartell, Director of Google Play.

It is known that players will be able to continue their game progress from mobile devices to PC. This is due to the cross-storage functionality that is presented, as quoted by us from The Verge, Thursday (16/12/2021).

Hartell added, where the program will be a native application of Windows. However, he said that it only supports the Windows 10 operating system and above.

A Google spokesperson, Alex Garcia Kummert, shared other information regarding the application they developed themselves, to make Android games run on Windows PCs. It also confirms, they have not partnered with Microsoft, BlueStacks or other similar emulators.

It's still unknown about the technology that Google uses to emulate Android apps on Windows. But the game will be played as usual without streaming from cloud gaming.

"It's not going to involve streaming the game," Hartell explained.

Google will not rely on any custom integrations as it said it will distribute the app independently.

But unfortunately, Windows itself has partnered with Amazon, to allow its users to install native games and applications through the Amazon Appstore. Then Google Play support will not be officially available on their feature. Then most likely, the number of Android games available will be much less.
