The origin of the Corona COVID-19 virus is still unclear. Speculation is growing that this virus may be man-made or leaked from a laboratory, an opinion echoed by this famous scientist.
Dr Alina Chan is a Canadian gene therapy expert who also teaches at Harvard and MIT campuses. He claimed that it was possible that the Corona virus was genetically created and that it was highly likely that it had leaked from a lab in Wuhan, in this case the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
"I think a lab origin is likely more likely than not. Right now, it's not safe for people who know the origins of this pandemic to say. But we live in an era where a lot of stored information eventually comes out," he told parliament. England quoted by us from Wales Online, Tuesday (21/12/2021).
"We've heard from some of the top virologists that the origin of this virus is artificial and that's reasonable and that includes experts who modified the first SARS virus," he continued.
He said the Corona virus had a unique feature called the furin cleavage site and without this feature, there would be no pandemic. Well, this feature may be intentionally included.
"So the scientist, who said that in early 2018 they will put horns on horses and at the end of 2019, a unicorn with horns appeared in Wuhan City," he likened.
He also alluded to the fact that no animal has been identified as an intermediary for the COVID-19 coronavirus. "We have to find it so we can prevent the next pandemic."
But of course, what Dr Alice said is just opinion and can't be proven. The Wuhan Lab itself has repeatedly denied that they are not at all related to the origin of the Corona pandemic.
Many scientists believe that the Corona virus came from nature. In other words, until now, the origin of the Corona virus is still a big mystery.
