Xiaomi wants to make a competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3

So far, Xiaomi has only had the Mi Mix Fold for its foldable phone line, and maybe they will release another foldable phone that will compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

This can be seen from the new patent registration for their folding phone design, which uses a clamshell design like the Galaxy Z Flip 3. This patent is registered with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Association (CNIPA).

From the images registered, it can be seen that the design of the cellphone looks similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 3, namely two rear cameras and a small screen on the side, as quoted by GSM Arena, Thursday (30/12/2021).

The phone also has an oval punch hole on the screen, which contains two camera holes. While the bottom of the phone is filled with the SIM card slot, USB-C port, and speaker hole. The power and volume buttons are on the right side of the phone.

It's not surprising that Xiaomi has finally penetrated a folding screen phone with a clamshell design, because previously there were Motorola, Huawei, and Samsung that had products in this category.

Of course, Xiaomi doesn't want to be left behind by its competitors, so it's likely that they will soon work on this clamshell phone. Although it is not known when exactly the product will be released.

So far, Xiaomi's newest phones are a trio of Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X. All three phones were released in China alongside MIUI 13, Watch S1, and TWS Earphone 3.

In terms of dimensions, the Xiaomi 12 Pro might be more suitable to be called the successor to the Mi 11, because it uses a 6.73-inch QHD + 120Hz AMOLED screen. While the Xiaomi 12 screen is smaller, which is 6.28 inch FHD + 120Hz.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro camera sensor is also more luxurious than the Xiaomi 12, which uses a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor, while the Xiaomi 12 camera sensor -- although both are 50MP -- is slightly lower, using the Sony IMX766 sensor.
